Job summary

Long Island architectural stone company seeks a shop drawing specialist to produce fabrication-ready packages for cut-to-size stone. You will interpret field measurements and convert them into precise shop drawings for the on-site shop team.

You will join two senior drafters and a flexible resource, collaborating with Project Managers through approvals and ensuring constructability and tolerances are met.

Qualifications

• Shop drawing experience with stone, millwork, or architectural metal.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and ability to produce fabrication-ready drawings from field data.
• Able to convert imperfect field information into fabrication-ready drawings.
• Architectural drafters with only design experience are not a fit for this role.

Responsibilities

• Produce shop drawings and fabrication-ready packages for cut-to-size natural stone.
• Take field dimensions and convert them into shop-ready drawings for the shop.
• Collaborate with Project Managers through submittal and approval cycles and revise as needed.
• Coordinate with the shop on constructability, tolerances, and sequencing.
