Job summary

The Boyd Group in Ennis, TX is seeking an Auto Body Technician to assess and repair vehicles, restoring them to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while contributing to speed, quality, and customer excellence.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and technical training or a 3-year apprenticeship. You will read job orders, work with other repairers, and use cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, and hammers to restore vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Strong understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies and use tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; applies filler resins as needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replaces damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replaces or repairs glass and windshields as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.
• Welds and attaches parts; prepares and repaints vehicles with factory-specified paint.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspects vehicles to ensure all work is correctly executed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
