Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Grandview, MO seeks an Auto Body Technician to inspect, repair, and restore vehicles to pre-accident condition, working with a team to meet KPIs and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

This role uses a variety of tools and requires reading job orders, precise craftsmanship, and safety awareness. Compensation is hourly, with performance-based bonuses and benefits starting Day 1.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replaces or repairs glass, interior parts, and applies correct paint.
• Welds and attaches parts, and prepares/repaints vehicles per standards.
• Ensures work completed within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
