Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Hammond, IN is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences through precise assessment and repair of vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles and collaborate with the team to meet speed, quality, and customer-excellence goals.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or an apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Plan repair work and prepare customer cost estimates.
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore pre-accident condition.
• Replace or repair glass, interiors, and components as needed.
• Weld, fit parts, and repaint vehicles per specs.
• Ensure work orders are completed within labor time guidelines.
