Job summary

Betten Body Shop in Muskegon, MI is seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our collision repair team. Full-time position focusing on inspecting damage, disassembly, repairs, and reassembly to OEM standards.

You will work with frame equipment and painters, maintain safety, and communicate findings to the estimator. Experience in collision repair, attention to detail, and a valid driver’s license are required; I-CAR/ASE training is a plus. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive collision repair or auto body work is preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle construction and collision repair processes.
• Ability to follow OEM repair procedures and use repair information.
• Experience with body repair tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
• Ability to perform physical duties (standing, bending, kneeling, lifting).
• I-CAR training, ASE certifications, or manufacturer-specific training are a plus.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect collision-damaged vehicles and identify necessary repairs.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicles, removing and installing damaged components.
• Perform structural and nonstructural repairs per OEM procedures.
• Repair or replace damaged body panels, bumpers, and exterior components.
• Perform dent repair, metal finishing, and other body repairs.
• Use welding, bonding, riveting, and fastening techniques as trained.
• Operate frame measuring, alignment, and repair equipment when qualified.
• Identify additional damage and communicate findings to the estimator or production team.
• Work closely with painters, preppers, and others to keep repairs moving.
• Verify quality and fitment before vehicles move to the next stage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures, technical docs, and safety guidelines.
