Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Batavia, IL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience through precise repair and quality workmanship. You will thoroughly disassemble, repair, and reassemble each vehicle to restore pre-accident condition.

You will realign chassis, replace parts, repair glass and interior components, weld and paint as needed, and ensure work meets KPI targets with teamwork across the shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or 3-year apprenticeship required.
• Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with other repairers in a shop.
• Strong understanding of vehicle body repair methods and tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
• Plan repair work and prepare customer cost estimates.
• Repair sections of vehicles using cutting guns, plasma cutters, and more.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when needed.
• Realign chassis and frames to correct structure.
• Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replace or repair glass and interior parts.
• Weld, fit parts, and apply paint per factory specs.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
