Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver excellent customer experiences through precise repair work that restores vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will inspect, dismantle, repair, reassemble, and refinish cars with attention to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction.

You will work with a team to meet KPIs, use a range of tools, and contribute to a strong brand presence in our shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship.
• Experience in auto body repair or shop environment.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies and how to use tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work that is necessary and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed to repair damage.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with parts.
• Replaces or repairs glass, interiors, and welds or fits parts as required.
• Prepares and repaints vehicles with factory-specified paint or equivalent.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspects vehicles to ensure repairs are correct.
