Job summary

TAG Auto Group in Merrillville, IN seeks an experienced Auto Body Technician to join our team. The technician repairs, replaces and refinishes outer body parts and fixes internal automotive structures according to company standards and timeframes.

The role involves analyzing, assessing and restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition. Responsibilities include repairing per estimates, communicating needs to management, maintaining equipment, using PPE, and complying with all regulations

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in collision repair or auto body work.
Strong understanding of vehicle structures and component replacement.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Repairs vehicles per estimate and established standards, preparing vehicles for body repair work.
Notifies management of additional repairs or changes that may affect completion time.
Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and keeps the work area safe and clean.
Wears required PPE including eye protection.
Cooperates with others in repair and prep tasks across the shop.
Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations affecting body shop operations.
