Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled auto body technician to inspect damaged vehicles and plan repairs. You will coordinate with team members on repair status and ensure timely, high-quality workmanship while deciding on repairs or replacements based on safety, cost, and cycle time.

Expect to remove upholstery and related components to access vehicles, participate in safety meetings, and guide an apprentice as needed to ensure procedures are followed correctly.

Qualifications

• Ability to use frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certification.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles and efficiently plan the repair process.
• Work and communicate with others on vehicle repair status.
• Perform quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
• Decide whether to repair or replace components based on safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to access vehicles and fenders.
• Direct an apprentice when needed and explain procedures.
