Job summary

The Boyd Group in Texas (Cleburne) is seeking an Auto Body Technician responsible for assessing and repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition, disassembling and reassembling, and upholding speed, quality and customer excellence.

You will work with the team to meet KPIs, use body tools, prepare estimates, repair dents, realign chassis, replace parts, weld and repaint, and ensure work orders meet labor guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer preferred.
• Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers; uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
• Hammers out dents and repairs minor body damage; applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with new or aftermarket parts; replaces glass as needed.
• Welds, attaches parts, and repaints vehicles to factory specs or equivalent.
• Completes work orders within labor time guidelines and inspects vehicles after repair.
