Gerber Collision & Glass in Punta Gorda, FL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver exceptional customer experiences by thoroughly assessing and expertly repairing vehicles to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, and work with the team to meet KPIs while upholding our brand promise of speed, quality, and customer excellence.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus technical training or apprenticeship in auto body repair.

Qualifications

• Ability to read job orders with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of repair methods and tool use.
• Ability to work with others in a busy auto body shop.
• Experience with common shop tools and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plans the repair work and prepares cost estimates for customers.
• Uses cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, hammers and pliers to repair sections of a vehicle.
• Hammers out dents and applies filler resins when needed.
• Realigns chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Removes damaged sections and replaces with parts; repairs glass/windshields as needed.
• Replaces or repairs interior parts as required.
• Welds and fits parts; preparess and repaints to factory specs.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect repairs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
