About the Role

The Auto Body Technician is responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body parts in accordance with company specifications, processes, and time standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Examine and evaluate damaged vehicles to plan for efficient repairs according to established standards.
2. Communicate with management and team members regarding vehicle repair status through all phases.
3. Notify management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised completion/delivery time.
4. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Operate all tools and equipment safely. Keep the work area organized, clean, and free of safety hazards.
5. Wear all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including eye protection.
6. Assist other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles, depending on schedule and area of expertise.
7. Understand, stay updated on, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in collision repair, with solid knowledge of processes, techniques, and materials used in automotive repair.
• Extensive knowledge of vehicle structure for removing and replacing damaged components.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly and over 70 pounds occasionally.
• Good agility, coordination, and balance for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing in various conditions.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

License/Certification

• Valid Driver’s License (Preferred)
• I-CAR and ASC Certification (Preferred)
