Job Title: Auto Body Technician

Job Summary: The Auto Body Technician is responsible for preparing vehicles and parts for final paint, as well as the preparation and finishing of vehicles and parts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare surfaces for painting using body filler, Dual Action (DA) sanders, and pneumatic grinders.
- Grind, file, and sand surfaces of vehicles and parts.
- Examine and feel all surfaces of metal to detect defects.
- Apply undercoats and finish coats using various application methods and materials.
- Mix and match paints and finishes.
- Prepare surfaces for painting using different methods.
- Mask surfaces with tape and paper.
- Operate, clean, and maintain all necessary equipment.
- Liaise with supervisor on problems to achieve efficient repairs.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Complete all documentation, including inspection sheets.
- Identify abnormalities and repairs required, advising the supervisor accordingly.
- Identify areas for process improvement, cost, and waste reduction.
- Work efficiently and within deadlines.
- Undertake relevant training and development as required.
- Carry out work orders within realistic timelines.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships and respect diversity.
- Record all hours worked accurately.
Additional Job Functions:
- Safely store and label materials.
- Perform routine maintenance on paint booths, guns, and gun cleaners.
- Adhere to work practices, procedures, and policies.
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
- Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in automotive painting.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
