Job description

Blue Bird Bus Sales of Virginia is seeking motivated individuals to join our team and expand our business in Virginia. There are two positions available: in-shop technician, based at the shop, and mobile technician, which involves travel. Hourly pay is commensurate with experience.

The Auto Body Technician will be responsible for repairing metal, plastic, and fiberglass vehicle parts.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan necessary repairs based on job orders.
2. Utilize tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers for vehicle repairs.
3. Hammer out dents, dimples, and minor body damages; apply filler resins when appropriate.
4. Realign chassis and frames to fix structural damage.
5. Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts.
6. Replace or repair glass and windshields as needed.
7. Repair or replace interior parts as necessary.
8. Weld and attach parts securely.
9. Prepare and repaint vehicles according to factory specifications or approved standards.
10. Inspect vehicles post-repair to ensure quality work.

Qualifications:

1. Ability to interpret job orders.
2. Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team.
3. Strong understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
4. Proficiency in using repair tools.

Education and Experience:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Vocational/technical training or apprenticeship in auto repair preferred.
3. At least three years of related experience preferred.
4. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Additional Requirements:

1. Tools: Must supply your own general hand tools.
2. Physical ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat during repairs and inspections.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
