Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking an experienced Auto Body Repairer to restore vehicle frames and panels to factory specifications. You will perform welding, realignment, painting, and inspection, using cutting guns, plasma cutters, jacks, and hand tools, while meeting safety and KPI targets.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, technical training or apprenticeship, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a busy shop.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical school program completion or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision.
Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop.
Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Responsibilities

Job description

Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers
Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections
Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when necessary
Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts
Replace or repair glass and windshields
Replace or repair interior parts
Weld, attach, or fit parts into place
Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or an agreed-upon equivalent
Complete work orders within labor time guidelines
Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure work was executed correctly
Collaborate with repair-facility team members to achieve KPIs
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
