Job summary

The Boyd Group is seeking an Auto Body Repair Technician to disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to pre-accident condition, planning repair work and preparing estimates for customers. You will perform dent removal, chassis realignment, glass replacement, and painting to factory specifications.

Responsibilities include inspecting completed work for quality, collaborating with teammates to meet KPIs, and upholding the WOW Operating Way across all repair jobs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of technical program or apprenticeship in auto body repair.
  • Ability to read job orders and work with limited supervision.

Job description


  • Provide an exceptional and successful customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each customer’s vehicle

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition

  • Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan

  • Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers

  • Use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections

  • Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when necessary

  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage

  • Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts

  • Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts

  • Weld, attach, and fit parts into place

  • Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent

  • Complete work orders within labor time guidelines

  • Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure work was executed correctly

  • Work with team members to achieve repair facility KPIs and act as a Brand Ambassador of The Boyd Group

  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer

  • Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision

  • Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop

  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies

  • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times

  • Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions

  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
