Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled body shop professional to oversee vehicle repairs in our Kent, WA facility. You will plan repairs, verify progress with teammates, and ensure on-time, high-quality outcomes across a busy shop floor.

You will decide on repair vs replacement, supervise apprentices, and actively participate in safety meetings. Proficient use of frame machines and hand/power tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certified.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check.
• Ability to use a frame machine.

Responsibilities

• Examine damaged vehicles and plan the repair process to be efficient.
• Work and communicate with others on vehicle repair status.
• Perform quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
• Decide whether to repair or replace components, considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window operating equipment, and trim to access vehicles and fenders.
• Participate in required safety meetings.
• File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power and hand tools.
• Direct an apprentice when needed, including explaining procedures and addressing unusual problems or questions.
