Job summary

Cox Automotive in Tampa, FL is seeking a skilled body repair technician. This position offers production-based pay, with compensation ranging from $5 to $20 per flag hour depending on location, plus potential commissions or incentives.

You will repair all types of body damage, disassemble/reassemble vehicles, and prepare panels for refinish, while adhering to SOPs and safety rules. Applicants should have a high school diploma and relevant experience or certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• 1 - 3 years of collision and/or mechanical estimating experience preferred.
• Paint Training Certification that meets HAPS 6H requirements required.
• Valid Respirator Fit Test Certificate.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle and repairs to be performed using repair order or tracking label prior to beginning repairs.
• Repair all damaged body panels as directed by management.
• Follow repair procedures as defined in SOP.
• Replace damaged panels or other body components as directed.
• Properly handle, apply, and dispose of surface coatings as directed in SOP and regulations.
• Finish all repairs as required to meet customer expectations for quality.
• Report production/piece rate flag hours per repair/vehicle as directed by management.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following procedures and modeling behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
