Job summary

Lighthouse Buick GMC, Inc. in Morton, IL is seeking an Auto Body Paint Prep Technician to join our Collision Center team. You will prepare vehicles for painting, mask for color, apply primers, and support painters to deliver high-quality finishes that wow customers.

This full-time, in-person role offers a stable schedule and opportunities to grow in a professional body shop environment. A strong eye for detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• At least 1 year of professional auto body experience.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Body shop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review each repair order prior to beginning work.
• Prepare vehicles and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment and materials.
• Mask vehicles for painting.
• Prime vehicles and parts.
• Sand vehicles and parts prior to painting.
• Responsible for wet sanding/buffing completed vehicles until the paint finish meets quality standards.
• Review all work with painter.
• Maintain a clean & organized work environment.
• Prompt daily attendance on scheduled workdays.
• Other general shop duties as assigned.
