Job summary

Starks Ford of Queens is seeking a skilled Paint Prep Technician for our Monticello, NY collision center. You will prepare vehicles and parts for painting, assist painters, and maintain a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced team setting.

Ideal candidates have paint prep or body shop experience or a willingness to train. A valid driver’s license and a commitment to quality are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous paint prep or automotive body shop experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Prepare vehicles and parts for painting by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning surfaces
• Remove imperfections and ensure surfaces are properly prepped for a flawless finish
• Assist automotive painters with paint booth preparation and vehicle movement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all manufacturer procedures and safety guidelines
• Work efficiently to help meet production and cycle time goals
