Job summary

Lighthouse Buick GMC, Inc. is seeking an experienced Auto Body Paint Prep Technician to join our Collision Center team. You will complete all paint preparation processes for repaired vehicles and assist painters to ensure a smooth workflow and high-quality finishes.

We aim for timely, defect-free work that leaves a great impression on customers. This full-time, in-person role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum of one year of professional auto body experience.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Candidates with body shop experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review each repair order prior to beginning work.
• Prepare vehicles and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment and materials.
• Mask vehicles for painting.
• Prime vehicles and parts.
• Sand vehicles and parts prior to painting.
• Responsible for wet sanding/buffing completed vehicles until the paint finish meets quality standards.
• Review all work with painter.
• Maintain a clean & organized work environment.
• Prompt daily attendance on scheduled workdays.
• Other general shop duties as assigned.

Lighthouse is looking for an experienced Paint Prep Technician ready to be part of an efficient and supportive team at our Collision Center. The ideal candidate is an efficient worker, with a positive attitude, and a passion for quality work and a finished product that wows the customer!

Summary

As a Body Shop Paint Prep Technician, you will complete all paint preparation processes for repaired vehicles and assist painters with their work. Your work is vital in the process of vehicle repair and restoration at the Collision Center. We strive to do timely work, that is defect free and makes a great impression on our customers!

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18-22/hr
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Work Location: In person

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates must have a valid driver's license to be considered for this position.
• Candidates must poses one year of professional auto body experience.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Candidates with body shop experience preferred.

Physical requirements

• Stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling and pulling.
• Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping.
• Lifting and carrying (up to 80 lbs).
• Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination needed to operate equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions.
