Job summary

Job description

We’re now hiring an Auto Body Damage Manager to join the Avis Budget Group team. In this role, you will lead the overall performance of the fleet services function with respect to the servicing, vehicle damage repair and in-fleeting/de-fleeting of rental vehicles to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District. You will drive operational excellence, lead a high-performing team, and maintain safety, efficiency, and accountability across all damage operations.What You'll Do:Develops, implements and communicates operating plans to maximize fleet utilization to business and company guidelines, directing and controlling the vehicle damage repair of fleet vehiclesManages performance of team members/employees against business plan by setting, communicating, monitoring and updating goals as needed for key performance indicators on a regular and consistent basis for damage, including, but not limited to, cost per estimate, overdue idle cars and vendor management/cycle timeAssesses damage area on a daily basis to prioritize vehicles for repair and/or salvage; communicates work to appropriate team members/employeesEnsures all repair orders are completed and processed in accordance with established guidelinesDetermine damage repair estimated labor hours and source optimal repair partsMinimizes damage estimate, body shop and on-lot repair cycle timeConducts monthly damage writer reviews and damage writer auditsForecasts, budgets and manages key financial drivers including, but not limited to, cost of repairSelects, manages and maintains appropriate body shop relationships and workload assignment, including, but not limited to, negotiating body shop rates, conducting semi-annual body shop audits, ensuring established service levels and quality standards are met and that all vendor management policies and procedures are followedEnsures proper use of purchase orders, receipt of services and/goods, timely submission of invoices for approval and the timely payment of invoicesMaintain up to date files on vendor insurance policiesAt bussing locations, oversees the damage repair of all busses for the operationManages all areas of the employee lifecycle including hiring, on-boarding, training, recognition and performance management of both managers and employees to enable a high performance cultureSupervises, develops, motivates, recognizes and evaluates the performance of manager and employee staff to enable a high performing cultureManages all facets of employee relations, including, but not limited to, implementing HR policies and practices in a consistent and fair manner, in accordance with Company policies and partnering with Human Resources Business Partners where appropriateProvides a safe work environment by ensuring all safety policies and practices are followed and maintainedMay be required to perform additional duties as directed by managementPerks You’ll Get:Access to Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insuranceEligible to elect other voluntary benefits including: Group Auto Insurance, Group Home Insurance, Pet Insurance, Legal Assistance, Identity Theft Protection, FSA, Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and additional life insurance coverages401(k) Retirement Plan with company matched contributionsFull training to learn the business and enhance professional skillsEmployee discounts, including discounted prices on the purchase of Avis/Budget carsAccess to an Employee Assistance Program for services including counseling, financial and legal consultation, referrals for care service and moreCommunity involvement opportunitiesWhat We're Looking For:High School diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred (or equivalent in education, training or experience)Minimum of 2 years management experience of employees in related field (rental car, automotive shop or service oriented field)Prior experience writing damage is preferableValid driver’s licenseAbility to work flexible schedules in a fast-paced environment that may include early morning, nights, or weekends, as determined by business needsAbility to lift 50 pounds and oversee multiple work areasOrganizational and prioritization skillsFinancial acumen and forecasting skillsTalent management and delegationProven written and verbal communication skillsExcellent investigation and problem solving skillsNegotiation and vendor management skillsThe annual starting salary for this position is between $60,000– $75,000 annually.
