Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking an Autism Technician to provide in-home and community behavioral services for patients in the autism program. Under supervision, you will work as part of the treatment team and implement services per the treatment plan.

The role requires 40 hours of orientation on autism techniques, CPR/BLS certification within 90 days, and on-the-job training for Managing Threatening Confrontations. Strong computer skills and independent judgment are expected.

OVERVIEWThe Autism Technician, under supervision, provides behavioral services to patients in the autism program. They participate in the treatment team and carries out services as described on the treatment plan. This role includes the following duties and actively supports the mission statement of Mercy Behavioral Health ServicesSchedule: Monday-Friday, Day time hours with two evenings per week until 7:00pmShift: DaysESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvides in-home and community behavioral services to patients with autism as directed in the treatment plan.Participates as a treatment team member by attending meetings, providing feedback about patient progress, and sharing impressions of patient status.Documents observations and care provided in the medical record.Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the Program Supervisor and/or Qualified Supervising ProviderParticipates in department and unit performance improvement activities.The employee will need to maintain current de-escalation training and utilize de-escalation techniques on a daily basis.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEMust complete 40 hours of specified orientation on autism and application of techniques.CERTIFICATION/LICENSUREApproved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 daysManaging Threatening Confrontations Certified (on the job training) within 90 daysOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESCOMPUTER SKILLSTo perform this job successfully, basic computer skills are required.LEVEL OF SUPERVISIONRequires a high level of independent judgment.PAY RANGE:$19.02 - $29.48Mercyhealth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
