Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a Promoting Readiness, Empowerment and Purpose (PREP) Classroom Teacher in a self-contained setting. You will deliver standards-based instruction, monitor progress, and partner with families to support student success in both general education and self-contained contexts.

The role requires an IL LBS1 endorsement and experience with autism spectrum supports, CPI/Ukeru training preferred.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 Endorsement is required.
• Experience in a self-contained classroom setting is preferred.
• Ability to implement evidence-based practices and adapt instruction to IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to general education standards, adjusting for diverse learning and executive functioning needs.
• Develop and implement individualized academic, behavioral, communication and social programming per each IEP.
• Create a predictable, supportive classroom environment that promotes engagement, safety, communication and independence.
• Use data to guide instruction and communicate progress to students, families and staff.
• Collaborate with related service providers, general education teachers, and administrators to coordinate support.
• Serve as case manager for students and complete IEP paperwork per district/state requirements.
• Attend IEP meetings, service team meetings and other required staffings.
• Provide guidance to paraeducators to ensure consistent implementation of instructional plans and supports.
• Implement safety and behavior supports aligned to PREP expectations.
