Job summary

Sarasota is seeking a dedicated instructional assistant to support students with academic and behavioral instruction. You will implement independently at the direction of the classroom teacher and assist with supervision in a supportive school setting.

Responsibilities include behavioral management support, maintaining a safe environment, and preparing records and instructional materials as needed. Training in CPI and ASD-related areas may be required during probation.

Qualifications

• Passing score on the Para Pro Assessment Test or an AA/AS degree or 60-hour equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Must complete verbal and physical CPI training within probation.
• May need to complete 40 hours of ASD-related training/workshops to obtain ASD certification by end of probation.

Responsibilities

• Independently supervise and implement instruction to students as assigned.
• Assist staff with behavioral management.
• Help create a safe learning environment and workplace.
• Prepare records, reports and other clerical tasks accurately.
