Job summary

TrulyHired in West Virginia is seeking an AU Mentor/Aide to assist teachers in daily classroom activities and support students with autism and other needs. The role requires flexibility, the ability to manage behavior, and assistance with daily living tasks, including potential toileting support.

Salary ranges from $30,660 to $44,950 and will be set using the Berkeley County Schools scale, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to work with emotionally, physically and/or mentally impaired students.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds and assist with toileting.
• Willingness to participate in training and follow district policy.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in routine classroom operation.
• Supports students with behavior management and self-help skills.
• Loads/unloads wheelchair bound students on bus or accompanies them.
• Attends meetings and maintains student records.
• Maintains classroom and prepares bulletin boards.
• Provides assistance with daily living and recreation/leisure activities.
