Job summary

Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC), Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Day Habilitation Center in Hewlett, NY.

The role focuses on assisting individuals with autism to improve communication, social and functional skills while following individualized treatment plans. The DSP works early morning to late afternoon, weekdays only, and earns $18.00 per hour with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities highly preferred.
• NYS valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety and welfare of individuals.
• Safeguard and respect confidentiality of individuals and families.
• Assist individuals to develop and maintain relationships; promote independence and community integration.
• Follow established treatment plans and Direct Support Professional Code of Ethics.
• Transport individuals in agency vehicles as needed.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families and team members.

Education
