Job summary

Amego School is seeking an energetic Assistant Teacher to support students with autism and implement behavioral and educational programming under the direction of a head teacher and BCBA. This role emphasizes safety, student rights, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Training will be provided, with opportunities for growth and tuition reimbursement for advanced studies in special education or applied behavior analysis.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma is required.
• Driver's License is required.
• Ability to implement behavioral support strategies and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational opportunities with the firm belief that everyone is capable of learning.
• Teach students as directed by the head teacher.
• Follow student behavior plans as directed by the BCBA.
• Report to residential group home work sites multiple days per week to assist students in preparing for school.
• Assist students with toileting and showering as needed.
• Perform physical management strategies to keep students and others safe from challenging behaviors.
• Observe and safeguard student rights as mandated reporters.
• Participate in the general upkeep of the school and residential group homes.
• Write incident reports as necessary and to company standards.
