Job summary

The Conewago school district is seeking an Autism Support Aide (Special Education) to help certified staff meet instructional goals and support inclusive classrooms. This role supports students with diverse needs and assists with instructional activities under supervision.

Primary duties include reinforcing skills, assisting with assessments and materials, and collaborating with the teaching team. Typical hours align with the school day, with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of college level coursework.
• Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists students individually and in small groups to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics and other skills.
• Assists professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Supports classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Assists with non-instructional duties such as lunch supervision, bus duty and field trip supervision.
