Job summary

Carlynton School District seeks a Life Skills/Autistic Support Special Education Aide to support students with autism and life skills needs. The role works under the direction of teachers to implement IEP-based goals, manage behavior, and assist with daily activities across classrooms and related areas.

The aide role requires the ability to multitask, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a respectful learning environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with students, parents and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
• Ability to communicate effectively and listen professionally.
• Ability to follow IEP goals and classroom plans with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professionalism and supervise students under guidance from teachers.
• Support programming designed by classroom or special education staff.
• Assist with toileting/hygiene needs as directed.
• Serve as bus monitor and provide crisis support as needed.
• Complete required professional development hours and maintain safety training.
