Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit Division of Student Services seeks a Special Education Teacher for the Child & Career Development Center- Great Valley Campus in Malvern, PA, to work in a Secondary Autistic Support classroom.

The role provides SDA instruction across Autism, Emotional, Life Skills and Multiple Disabilities tracks; responsibilities include planning IEPs, tracking progress, reporting, and collaborating with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education.
• Master's Degree strongly preferred.
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
• Provide specially designed instruction for eligible students.
• Plan curriculum and lessons.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress from performance, tests, and observation of behavior.
• Collaborate with families and professionals to support student needs.
• Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment.
• Develop IEPs addressing academic, behavioral, and speech needs.
• Prepare report cards and records as required.
• Participate as a member of the treatment/IEP team.
