Job summary

American Paradigm Schools in Philadelphia is seeking a 1st/2nd grade Special Education Teacher for Autistic Support at First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School. This is a full-time, exempt, 10-month position within the Special Education Department.

The teacher will develop specialized instruction, monitor progress, manage IEPs as the IEP Case Manager, and co-teach with general education teachers to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific research-based instruction to students with disabilities in small groups using data-driven instruction.
• Co-teach in general education classrooms to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Progress monitor and assess student progress against instructional objectives and individualized goals.
• Case manage assigned students, follow state procedures, and conduct annual IEP meetings.
• Communicate with parents and IEP team regularly with updates on student progress.
• Document all communication with families in the SIS.
• Attend professional development relevant to grade level.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students and families.
• Participate in Caring School Community (CSC) activities.
• Engage in other school-wide initiatives and professional duties as assigned.
