Job summary

Katy ISD CREECH ELEMENTARY seeks a SPED teacher specialized in structured autism to support students identified with autism spectrum disorder. The role involves collaboration with the principal and the community to implement individualized instruction, maintain data, and participate in ARD/IEP processes.

The position requires a valid Texas teaching certificate in the appropriate special education area, plus experience with autism instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Texas certificate in appropriate area.
• CPI certification preferred or after employment.
• Experience in providing instruction to students with autism spectrum disorder.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings for eligible students.
• Develop and implement instructional goals to meet individual needs and ASD competencies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of applying behavioral analysis and strategies.
• Administer district/state testing as appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, campus staff and SPED supervisors.
• Collect and maintain data to measure student progress.
• Use curriculum adaptations and accommodations to support learning.
• Provide personal care as identified in IEPs and assistive supports as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and SHARS duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field

Valid Texas certificate in appropriate area

CPI certification (preferred)
