Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics in Texas is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to support students with autism through individualized instruction, thoughtful classroom supports, and strong partnerships with families and school teams.

You will individualize instruction to each student’s strengths and IEP goals, create a supportive classroom, track progress, and collaborate with related service providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Texas special education teaching certification required.
• Knowledge of individualized instruction, IEP implementation, visual supports, and positive behavior strategies.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Patient, adaptable approach that recognizes each student’s strengths and support needs.
• Experience teaching or supporting students with autism preferred.

Responsibilities

• Individualize instruction. Adapt lessons, materials, and teaching strategies to each student’s strengths and IEP goals.
• Create a supportive classroom using predictable routines, visual supports, and appropriate accommodations.
• Build meaningful skills in academic learning, communication, social participation and independence with related service providers.
• Support positive behavior using evidence-based strategies and implement IFSP/IEP-based plans with the team.
• Track progress and adjust instruction through data collection and progress monitoring.
• Partner with families and school teams; participate in ARD meetings and coordinate with staff.
