Job summary

Anova Education in Marietta, Georgia is seeking a Teacher for Special Education Autism to provide high-quality instructional experiences for students on an annual caseload, aligned with GPS standards and IEP goals.

The role requires a T-4 Georgia certification or eligibility, preferably T-5, and a track record of successful teaching. You will collaborate with the principal, parents, and staff to monitor progress and maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• T-4 current Georgia certification (or eligibility for Georgia Certification) as required for Highly Qualified status
• T-5 Georgia certification strongly preferred.
• Successful teaching or student teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing appropriate learning experiences and educational opportunities for special education students, with a focus on students assigned to annual caseload
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance and adheres to established work schedules.
• Carefully plans for and teaches students using differentiated instruction driven by IEP goals.
• Monitors student progress related to academic, emotional, social and vocational goals.
• Works cooperatively and communicates effectively with students, parents, administration and other system personnel.
• Facilitates home-school communication and uses web-based teacher classrooms to communicate student learning.
• Maintains a neat and attractive instructional area conducive to teaching and learning according to GPS standards.
• Submits accurate and timely monthly caseload updates to Director of Special Education.
• Monitors and supports academic, social, behavior, and vocational achievement for students on caseload.
• Submits IEPs and data/reports as required (lesson plans tied to GPS standards).
• Participates in grade conferences, committee work, IEP meetings and related meetings.
• Implements actions and collects impact data per district plans and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Special Education.
