Job summary

You will observe behavior, help de-escalate incidents, and contribute ideas to lesson plans while maintaining confidentiality and records. The role includes delivering vocational instruction aligned with student programs, participating in school activities, and supporting teachers in a therapeutic team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college units.
• Experience working with children with disabilities.
• Ability to pass ProAct Training within one month.
• Ability to pass First Aid and CPR within three months.
• Must have a valid California Driver License and insurance.
• Clear background checks (DOJ, Child Abuse, licensing).
• Ability to work as part of a therapeutic team.
• Confidential record-keeping experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist educators in implementing the IEP and review lesson plans.
• Observe and de-escalate behavior according to procedures.
• Report progress regarding student behavior and performance to teacher.
• Provide vocational instruction relevant to student programs (e.g., woodshop, photography).
• Participate in school programs and events with students.
• Maintain individual student records; ensure confidentiality.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings to stay updated on policies.
• Support health and safety of students and assist with supervision.
