Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate in special education
• Ability to develop programs to meet cognitive, affective, and psychomotor needs
• Experience or training in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with students, families, staff, and community

Responsibilities

• Maintain an organized classroom program with advance lesson plans and IEPT-aligned schedules
• Provide directions and supervision to aides, volunteers, and student teachers
• Maintain current assessments and IEPT reports and directives
• Demonstrate effective instruction and adapt to individual student needs
• Submit timely reports and communicate at IEPT meetings and conferences
• Demonstrate behavioral management and supervise students
• Participate in meetings and committees as needed
• Maintain professional conduct and positive image during workday
• Complete required paperwork (IEPs, reports, Medicaid billing)
• Adhere to district policies and Michigan Special Education Rules
