Job summary

Kennewick School District seeks a paraeducator for the Tier II Autism program at Hawthorne Elementary. This 6-hour-per-day, 180-day-per-year position offers a competitive hourly salary and opportunities to earn extra pay based on college credits.

Open date 10/02/2026; close date 10/08/2026. You will support students with autism, work with teachers, maintain records, and participate in CPI training and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have an AA degree OR 72 quarter college credits OR 48 semester college credits OR a passing ETS score.
• Must attach unofficial transcript showing AA degree or credits; official transcripts required within 30 days.
• Must pass a background check and a basic skills test.
• CPI Level I and II training must be obtained at the next opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to special education students in the Tier II Autism program.
• Support physical/health needs of students as required.
• Assist teachers with clerical or instructional tasks and data collection.
• Implement prescribed behavioral intervention strategies.
• Supervise students during recess and in PE/music settings.
• Maintain documentation of student progress and IEP goals as required.
