Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant education coursework.
• ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455+ required.
• Two to four years of experience in a structured educational setting or equivalent.
• Ability to support students with IEPs and varied needs in academic, behavioral, social, and physical domains.
• Knowledge of child development and instructional goals aligned with MCPS policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and classroom management support to teachers and students.
• Assist with student personal care and medical needs as required.
• Monitor and support student behavior and engagement in lessons.
• Attend to duties both in-class and possibly off-site instructional activities.
• Collaborate with teachers and paras to promote student mastery of curriculum.
