Job summary

May Center School in Randolph, MA is seeking an Art Teacher to design and lead art education for students across the autism spectrum. You’ll collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instruction, materials, and ongoing support, while implementing ABA-based strategies and communicating progress.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, maintaining inventory, and ensuring student safety. Candidates should have a degree in Special Education or Art Education and a passion for helping

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Special Education, Art Education, or related field.
  • Experience: Working with students with disabilities.
  • Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, and ABA knowledge preferred.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual student needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead art classes for each classroom, coordinating the schedule with your supervisor.
  • Guide classroom teachers in delivering art activities with instruction, materials, and ongoing support.
  • Prepare instructional materials and maintain art supplies inventory.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to communicate student progress and needs.
  • Build students’ skills through structured programs and ABA strategies.
  • Implement teaching practices, behavior plans, and emergency procedures per IEPs.
