Job summary

ACCEPT Education Collaborative is seeking an Art Teacher for 0.4 FTE to provide direct instruction in unified arts at our Medway locations. The role collaborates with special education teams, therapists, and families to support students’ holistic development.

The ideal candidate holds a Massachusetts Art K-12 license (or education license) with at least 1 year of teaching experience and a compassionate, patient disposition, capable of staying calm under pressure and communicating effectively

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as an Art Teacher.
• Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities.
• Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Art (K-12) and/or education. Licensure subject to change per DESE.
• A patient, resilient, resourceful and compassionate personality.
• Excellent ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Master’s Degree in Education or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Plans an art program of study meeting individual needs and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals with clear objectives for lessons and projects.
• Employs appropriate instructional methods and materials to meet objectives.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Collaborates with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Supervises teacher assistants/volunteers and participates in staff meetings and development.
• Responds to emails within 48 hours and travels between locations to provide services.
