Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the MCPS curriculum and special education program.
• Knowledge of IEP, learning theory, differentiated instruction, data collection.
• Familiarity with ESSA, IDEA, and state/federal policies for special education.
• Ability to adapt instructional programs and materials.
• Excellent communication with students, teachers and parents.
• Knowledge of the MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS) standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with the general education teacher.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities.
• Assist in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
• Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside the instructional day as required.
