Job summary

Fulton School District 58 is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with Autism in a small, focused environment. You will develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to promote growth in communication, behavior, social and daily living skills.

The role emphasizes teamwork, individualized instruction, and maintaining accurate records while providing a safe and supportive classroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a job-related area.
• Missouri State Teaching Certificate.
• Experience with IEP processes and accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Administers developmental testing programs and state tests to assess student progress.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
• Directs para-professionals and volunteers to support classroom goals.
• Maintains confidential records (IEPs, progress notes) in accordance with policy.
• Responds to inquiries from parents/guardians about instructional programs.
• Schedules and coordinates with therapists (OT, PT, SLP) to meet IEP goals.
• Assists in developing lesson plans and delivering instruction aligned to curriculum.
