Job summary

Franklin Township School District in Somerset, NJ seeks a Special Education Teacher, Autism/MD for the 2026-2027 school year at Elizabeth Avenue Elementary School. This 10-month contract will provide daily instruction aligned with the district curriculum and ABA-informed practices.

Qualified NJ certification (PreK-3, K-6 or TOH), experience with emotional/behavioral challenges, and ability to teach in a self-contained setting for Language Arts, Math and Social Studies are required.

Qualifications

• NJ certification required: PreK-3, K-6 and TOH (Teacher of Students with Disabilities)
• Experience with students with emotional/behavioral challenges
• Self-contained classroom experience for Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with NJ FIRST Act
• Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

Responsibilities

• Provide daily instruction aligned with the district curriculum
• Utilize ABA principles and data collection/graphing to monitor progress
• Maintain a positive learning environment in a self-contained classroom
