Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks an Instructional Assistant-Special Education to support students with IEPs in a general or adapted curriculum setting. You will assist teachers, implement behavior plans, and help prepare instructional materials.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, CPI certification preferred, and the ability to work with diverse student needs under FERPA guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role with typical M-F hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPI certification preferred and renewal as required.
• Experience with special education and IEPs preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality per FERPA.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to teachers coordinating instructional programs for students with IEPs.
• Assists teachers with implementing behavior intervention plans.
• Helps plan, organize, and prepare instructional materials.
• Maintains confidentiality and supports student safety.
• Assists with student transitions and health care needs as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
