Job summary

Kanawha County Schools seeks an Elementary School Teacher for a 1-year assignment ending 6/30/27. The teacher will deliver standards-based instruction to elementary students and ensure achievement of learning objectives for the grade level.

The role requires valid teaching certification, adherence to WV code, and collaboration with special education staff. Salary is determined by the Kanawha County Teacher Salary Schedule and is commensurate with experience and education level.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate/licensing to teach in the specified specialization and grade level.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV requirements.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement Kanawha County Schools' standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Implement 21st Century technology skills.
• Plan and implement collaborative model with special education students and teachers.
• Plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs and field trips.
• Be accountable for individual student achievement.
• Plan and implement personalized learning for all students.
• Maintain strong working/communication with students, parents and peers.
• Willing to implement other programs designated by principal for school improvement.
• Maintain classroom control.
• Perform supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal.
