Job summary

Gersh Academy seeks a Speech Language Pathologist to provide speech therapy support to children ages 5-21. The role involves collaboration with other disciplines, reviewing outcomes, and modifying intervention plans.

Clinical reasoning and professional judgment are essential for screening, evaluation, and transition planning. The position is onsite at our West Hempstead school, with regular sessions, documentation, and coordination with families, teachers, and team members to support students’

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.
• Must have current NY license.
• TSSLD certification preferred.
• PROMPT Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote optimal function and engagement in meaningful activities.
• Provide support to families and collaborate with other disciplines to address goals in IFSP or IEP.
• Provide speech and language therapy/evaluations for language, auditory processing disorder, articulation, and voice fluency.
• Work with children who have autism.
• Utilize behavior management techniques.
• Write evaluations and progress reports.
• Consult and collaborate with parents, schoolteachers, and fellow colleagues.
• Maintain documentation per state and local requirements.
