Job summary

The Office of Public Instruction in Helena, MT is seeking a statewide coordinator to increase schools’ awareness of autism spectrum disorders and to improve services for students with autism or significant behavioral challenges. You will provide educators with training and consult with districts to strengthen MTSS practices.

This role oversees interagency collaboration, works with Partners, and manages a budget around $200,000 annually to carry out this work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, School Psychology, Speech and Language Pathology, or related field.
• Three years job related work experience.
• Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst or Board-Certified Associate Behavior Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Increase public schools’ awareness of autism spectrum disorders and behavioral challenges.
• Provide educators with the skills and knowledge to educate these students following IDEA and MT rules.
• Offer consultative services to school districts to improve district services for autism and challenging behaviors.
• Coordinate with multiple agencies to strengthen interagency cooperation and MTSS activities.
