Job summary

Gersh Autism Academy is seeking a compassionate Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) to support students with autism in a year-round school program in Issaquah, WA. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm, with occasional before/after hours per staff discretion.

The position offers growth via RTTB/RBT opportunities, data collection, collaboration with behavior analysts, and ongoing professional development within Gersh Autism network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with children, especially with autism, is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to pursue RBT certification within a specified time frame.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing IEPs and BIPs for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students for academic, social, and behavioral growth.
• Help students with daily tasks including communication, social interaction, self-management, and hygiene.
• Prepare students and materials for activities and transitions.
• Support students during classroom activities, field trips, and school events.
• Apply strategies from behavior intervention plans to promote self-regulation and learning.
• Collect and document data on student performance and progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with teachers and behavioral specialists to create a positive learning environment.
• Communicate with teachers and staff about student progress and challenges.
• Participate in daily training sessions with behavioral analysts and ongoing professional development.
