Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Autism Center-Based Program at Cougar Run Elementary. The role uses specialized supports to assist students with ASD, implementing IEPs and promoting a safe, structured learning environment.

You will work with a team including SPED teachers, BCBA, SLP, and other specialists to support instructional goals and meaningful inclusion, including AAC use and data collection.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex student behaviors.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration.
• Able to implement IEPs and support instruction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and well-being of all students; address safety concerns.
• Assist with implementing the IEP and support curriculum access.
• Model use of AAC devices and communication supports throughout the day.
• Provide 1:1 or small group behavioral support for students with safety/behavioral concerns.
• Collect daily data on behavior and academic progress as required by the IEP team.
• Support transitions and inclusion in general education settings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
